After a long, grey stretch of winter and early spring, the first genuinely warm weekend arrives almost like an announcement, and parks across the city fill accordingly, as though everyone had been waiting for exactly this moment to reappear outdoors. Local shops selling ice cream or cold drinks often notice the shift in demand before any official weather report confirms it.

Barbecues get dusted off, picnic blankets reappear, and footpaths that had grown quiet through the colder months suddenly carry a noticeably busier, more relaxed foot traffic, all within the space of a single sunny Saturday. Even people with no particular outdoor plans find themselves drawn outside, unwilling to waste the sudden, welcome warmth indoors.

Locals treat this first warm weekend with a kind of collective relief, less a formal seasonal marker than a shared, instinctive decision that it is finally time to spend the day outside again after months spent mostly indoors. By the following weekend, the novelty has usually worn off slightly, though the parks remain noticeably busier than before.
